Privacy — the short version
Who I am
I'm Melinda Nagy-Sinka, and I run Room for Pilates. If you have any questions about your information, email me at melinda@room-for-pilates.com or call 07545566552.
What I collect
-
Your name, phone number and email
-
Your address, if you give it to me (it's optional — it's just for invoices)
-
Your date of birth, on the health information sheet — it helps me judge the right exercise intensity for you
-
A record of your bookings and payments
-
Health information: any conditions, injuries, allergies or dietary needs you tell me about
-
An emergency contact number, if you'd like to leave one (completely optional)
-
Basic website information, like cookies
Why I collect it
-
To book your sessions and send you reminders
-
To send invoices and keep the records I need for my tax return
-
To keep a record of our sessions in case a question or complaint comes up later
-
Health information is the important one: without it I could set you exercises that aren't safe for you. I only need what you think is relevant to your sessions.
What I won't do
I won't send you marketing emails or letters. Any advertising I do is on social media, not to you directly.
How long I keep it
While we're working together. Once your sessions end, I delete your contact details, health information and session notes — unless you ask me to keep them, for example if you're taking a break and plan to come back. You can change your mind about that at any time.
Your rights
You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how I use it, or send it to you or someone else. Where I've relied on your consent, you can withdraw it whenever you like. I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy
Please tell me first — email melinda@room-for-pilates.com. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

I need to collect personal information ,name, contact details and address for keeping in touch, invoice my clients and provide information in my tax return about the work I carry out.I collect date of birth as part of the health information sheet because age is a factor in setting safe exercise intensity. I only use this data to book appointments and send reminder messages and invoices. I will use social media for marketing, I don't wish to send email or post marketing for my clients. I am collecting health data, because it is imperative for me to know what type of exercises are good or not suitable for my clients. In the absence of health information exercise could cause serious health damage. I would like to give the free option of leaving an emergency contact number if my client wishes.
